Tesla’s Elon Musk says he ‘never intended to be CEO of the electric car company’
Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk is facing a barrage of questions about his past financial dealings and his relationship with the former CEO of Boston Consulting Group.
Musk spoke to Bloomberg’s Alix Spiegel in a wide-ranging interview for this week’s issue of Bloomberg Businessweek.
Bloomberg: Tesla’s CEO is facing the scrutiny of a lot of people.
What’s the context for your involvement?
Musk: I have never intended to become CEO of Tesla, but the world has changed so dramatically that I thought it was important to try to find some way to be involved.
It’s not easy to do that, but I feel very strongly that I have to do it.
We’re trying to find the right way.
Bloomberg News: You’re not going to run as a Democrat.
Musk:”We’ll see how it goes.”
Bloomberg: Is there anything else you want to add?
Musk”: I want to be as transparent as possible.
If we could have a way to tell everybody what we’re doing, I think we would be much more effective.
But we don’t have a lot to say, so let’s keep it that way.
